Caleb Jones Announces Candidacy for 117th District Seat

CALIFORNIA, Mo. Caleb Jones, son of current State Rep. Kenny Jones, today announced his candidacy for the Missouri House of Representatives 117th District seat currently held by his father.

“It would be a great privilege to serve the people of the 117th District where I was born and raised because I believe that we must focus on improving the quality of life for the hard-working families,” Caleb Jones said. “My commitment to improving our communities and our state will be a top priority for me in Jefferson City, and that is why I am running for state representative.”

Jones is no stranger to public service thanks to his significant experience serving Missourians.

After receiving a degree in Agriculture Economics at the University of Missouri, Caleb worked in Washington D.C. for former Congressman Kenny Hulshof.  Jones later served as Missouri Coalitions Director for the Bush/Cheney Campaign in 2004 and after the election was appointed by President Bush to serve as Special Assistant in the United States Department of Agriculture.

Jones moved back to central Missouri after serving with the USDA and received his law degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia.  Caleb and his brother, Clayton, own a law practice with offices in Kansas City, Columbia, and California.

“I look forward to talking about the issues and discussing ways to create better jobs and improve our local economy without raising taxes,” Jones said. “I also look forward to getting out in the District and hearing from the very people I hope to serve in the Missouri General Assembly.”
