JEANIE LACHNER, of Prairie Home, Announces Candidacy For State Representative District 117 Jeanie Lachner of Prairie Home, announced her candidacy to run for State Representative of the 117th District at the Cooper County Lincoln Day Banquet on Saturday, March 20. “I look forward to the campaign, especially talking with and finding solutions for the citizens in the 117th District. I'm humbled by the awesome responsibility of representing this area, especially now, with the loss of jobs and the present economic downturn but I am a good listener, energetic and if elected will work to foster a environment that will support our current employers and attract new business. Agriculture must be prioritized to keep the jobs we have. I know that we can do better by limiting government intrusion into our personal lives and the job killing regulation on small business.” Lachner is married to Jim Lachner (a life long resident of Cooper County), they have two children, Jayme of San Diego, CA and Jerad with wife Angela and their two children of Ozark, MO. She graduated from Prairie Home High School and attended Dickenson Business School in Jefferson City. Lachner has been actively involved in the school and community activities over the years. Lachner is a member of the United Methodist Church, where she has served on the Church Board, as Financial Secretary, Church Trustee, the Building Project Committee, past President of the Women’s Society, and Adult Sunday School Active Coordinator. Lachner is a Cooper County Committeewomen, Vice Chairman of the Cooper County Republican Committee, Secretary of the 117th Legislative Committee, and has worked on local campaign’s for the last twenty years. She has been employed for twenty years, as Legislator Assistant to three State Representatives. Lachner is experienced in constituent services and the legislative process. She is active in her community as past President of the Prairie Home Civic Club, member of the Prairie Home Buster Club, PTO member, score keeper for Basketball, Softball, and Baseball for ten years, room mother for the Prairie Home Grade School. “Our traditional Mid-Missouri values have shaped my life and I will represent those values in the State Legislature.” Lachner is running on the Republican ticket.
